No Flights through Kukës Airport in Last 2 Months

For the last two months, there have been no flights through Kukes International Airport. The two airlines Air Albania and Helvetica have not scheduled other flights and according to the director of the airport Altin Progonati this interruption has to do with the decrease of the flow of flights or passengers for the winter season.

The flights are expected to resume at the end of February, flights that according to director Progonati, are expected to double or triple their number, as well as the addition of other destinations.

Although there are no flights, Kukes airport works every day with full capacity of employees, as there are other works related to maintenance and repairs at the airport. Progonoti says that Kukes airport has been certified since the first day and there is no room for speculation about the certification process or flight operations, noting that the airport is built according to international airport standards.

Kukes Airport started flight operations on June 9 this year with two airlines, to Zurich and Istanbul. During the period of its operation, more than 8 thousand passengers travelled at the Kukes International Airport in July and August alone.
