Opposition MPs Investigate Tirana Incinerator

The Democratic Party members of the parliamentary inquiry committee for the incinerators were present this Friday in the incinerator in Tirana where they had a meeting with one of the representatives of the waste plant.

The chairwoman of the investigative committee, Jorida Tabaku, asked the engineer if there was another person who could give explanations and if he knew where the owners of the company, Stela Gugallja, Klodian Zoto and Mirel Mërtiri were.

"I do not know them," said the engineer.

"You do not know them? Who is your leader? "When we came, I said we would not find any criminals here, because they are hiding", said Tabaku.

"Thank you for coming," the engineer told her.

"You know I have come several times or not? "I had a very bad experience because a bunch of cars surrounded me as if we were the criminals, in fact it turned out that the structured criminal group was here," Tabaku replied.

Meanwhile, for the media, the chairwoman of the investigative committee, Tabaku said that no incineration is performed in this plant.

"Today we came to the conclusion that there is no incineration here. It can be anything, but the procedure for which this concession contract is not being performed today. The engineer is explaining to us that a waste management process is being carried out here which is professional but unfortunately this concession contract is corruptly not being implemented for us today.

What is happening in Fier is happening in Tirana, there is a process that happens in the landfill but there is no incineration process," Tabaku said.
