Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted after the news that a headquarters of the US Special Operations Forces (SOF) will be set up in Albania. 

In a message on social media, Rama called it fantastic news, while emphasizing that the location of the headquarters in Albania will provide greater interoperability with Albanian allies, important access to transport centers in the Balkans and more flexibility great logistics. 

"Albania remains a strong ally of NATO and the US enjoys a strong relationship with the government and the Ministry of Defense of Albania, which makes the establishment of a SOF headquarters in this allied country a natural decision. Also, this location greatly reduces travel time and increases the flexibility of special operations and conventional forces in the region. This would not have been possible without the extraordinary support of the Albanian government and the professionalism of the Albanian army," Rama said. 

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Rama added: "Today we have received fantastic news for which we have been working for some time and it is an expression of very high and very close credibility, on this occasion I want to thank publicly Ambassador Yuri Kim. She should be thanked for the extraordinary relief that has given to this interaction, enabling us to be in communication at the highest level 

For those who complain, where are our weapons, helicopters, rifles, etc. we are a NATO country, and we now have the basic headquarters of the US Special Operations Forces," Rama said.
