Police Arrest Woman Suspected of Targeting Businesses in Tirana

Police in Tirana have launched an investigation into a series of alleged property crimes, resulting in the arrest of a 39-year-old woman who had been wanted by authorities.

Police identified the suspect as Kumrie Zika, 39, a resident of Tirana.

According to investigators, Zika allegedly took temporary jobs at different businesses across the capital with the intention of stealing their daily cash takings before leaving the workplace.

Authorities say the investigation has so far documented five cases of theft in areas covered by Tirana Police Stations No. 1 and No. 2.

Investigators are continuing to examine whether the suspect may be linked to additional thefts in Tirana.

Police said further investigative work is underway to establish the full extent of the alleged criminal activity and determine whether other cases can be attributed to the suspect.
