President Begaj Seeks Kosovo's Recognition by Kenya, Botswana, South Sudan

President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, as part of the meetings that is holding in the General Debate Week of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, met with his counterparts from Kenya, Botswana, and South Sudan, to whom he requested the recognition of the Republic of Kosovo. 

First, President Begaj met with the President of the Republic of Kenya, William Samoei Ruto. 

During the meeting, the presidents underlined that the exchange of visits at the political level will give an impetus to the development of cooperation between Albania and Kenya, especially in the framework of international organizations. 

The Head of State further focused on developments in the Western Balkans region, where he asked President Ruto to recognize the Republic of Kosovo, which he described as a factor of stability in the Western Balkans. 

President Begaj repeated the same request to the President of Botswana, Mokgweetsi Masisi. 

Also, the President of the Republic met with the President of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit. 

During the meeting, Begaj focused again at the Kosovo issue, asking for its recognition by South Sudan.
