President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, has participated Sunday in the homage for the death of the football player from Shkodra, Ramazan Rragami.

Head of State has published on social networks some photos, in which he can be seen placing the wreath of flowers near the coffin where the Albanian football legend rests.

In his message on social networks, President Meta wrote that Rragam's legacy in sports will serve as inspiration for children and young people.

"I could not help but come to Shkodra today to say goodbye to the legendary football player of Vllaznia and the National Team, the unforgettable coach and professor Ramazan Rragami. I shared with his beloved family, friends, teammates, benefactors and the Shkodra community the sincerest and heartfelt condolences for the loss of this personality, which we will all miss and with whom I had the privilege of being acquainted.

I find it difficult to understand a visit to Shkodra without meeting Ramazan Rragami, but I am convinced that this legend, like all legends, will always remain in our memory. Whenever we remember that historic draw in December ’67, which disqualified the world runners-up, we will remember Ramazan Rragami and his teammates, who gave Albania a name and fame in Europe.

Every time we remember the achievements of our ‘Shpresa’, we will remember Ramazan Rragami, the architect of its qualification in the 8 best in Europe. His sports heritage will always serve as inspiration for children and young people, that with work, passion and love for sports they can do great and immortal deeds. We will always remember the champion footballer and coach with love, but above all we will miss the super champion man of the best civic and national values”, underlined the President.
