The Special Prosecution against Corruption (SPAK) took under investigation the prison police officers who transferred the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj from Durresi to the Special Court of Appeal.

Sources confirmed for albaniandailynews.com, that Veliaj during the transport used the phone of a police officer and made phone calls.

Asked by the prosecutors, the police officer, said that he made this act due to the fear.

Veliaj was arrested on 10 February on corruption charges.
