The Korça Prosecution Office has initiated ex officio criminal proceedings for the offense of “abuse of office”. 

The investigations followed information published by the online media outlet weblajm.com and the investigative television program “Piranjat.” The case concerns alleged irregularities in the management and organization of food services provided to patients at the Regional Hospital of Korça.

The criminal proceeding was registered after the publication of the investigative report on 11 March 2026, citing findings from an audit by the Supreme State Audit. According to the report, several problems were identified in the management and organization of food services for patients.

Korça Prosecution, within the context of this criminal proceeding, has ordered a series of investigative actions to be conducted by judicial police officers, aiming to thoroughly verify the circumstances presented in the published material, gather the relevant documentation, and identify any individuals bearing legal responsibility related to this case.

The investigations are going to be conducted in the context of the responsibilities held by public institutions to fulfill their legal obligations in safeguarding the health of patients and all citizens of Korça District.
