Prostitution Cases in Albania Increased

In the first 10 months of this year, a total of 32 cases of exploitation of prostitution have been found throughout Albania. 

The victims of this criminal offense are mainly minorities. They were sexually exploited by older people, deceiving them and versus different monetary amounts. 

Referring to statistical data from the Ministry of Interior, from January to October this year, a total of 967 criminal offenses of illegal trafficking have been identified. September holds the highest number, with 150 cases. A total of 1,144 perpetrators were identified, most of whom were jailed or declared wanted.

In the category of illegal trafficking, in addition to the use of prostitution, is also the trafficking of juveniles. In 10 months have been detected and prevented 12 cases. For trafficking in weapons and ammunition, 17 cases have been detected during this year, while for the trafficking of motor vehicles, which also holds the highest number of criminal offenses, total of 162 cases have been identified.
