Putin Meets Guterres, Kosovo on Focus
Russian President Vladimir Putin had a meeting with United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres this Tuesday, with whom he spent time talking about Kosovo.
Putin emphasized to Guterres he had read all the documents of the International Court of Justice on the situation in Kosovo and used it as a pretext to justify the Russian occupation of the Donbas and imminent plans to secede the region from Ukraine. Putin said that Luhansku and Donetsk have the same right as Kosovo, since according to him, a precedent has already been set.
"I have personally read all the documents of the International Court of Justice on the situation in Kosovo. I well remember the decision which states that one or another territory to exercise the right of self-determination, is not obliged to seek permission to declare sovereignty. This is a decision of the international court. This decision was also supported by all," stated Putin
