Rama Responds to Critics over Rewarding Ceremonies

Prime Minister Edi Rama has responded to the many criticisms that have come to the government for the organization of the ceremony in honour of the athlete Luiza Gega and the boxer Florian Marku.

During his speech, Rama brought to attention an expression of Einstein "better not listen to them because for every solution, they have a problem".

According to Rama, Luiza Gega has received full support from the government. The head of government says that the difference between the ceremony held for Gega and that of Florian Marku is that the first one was received with the highest honour, which is given only to heads of state.

"Between a European champion, Luiza Gega, and a champion like Floriani, who continues to raise our national flag to the top, there are differences. As you may have followed, the extraordinary success of Luiza Gega created a strange consensus of joy mixed with an incomprehensible division, in the present case due to politics. For no reason, many could not leave the joy without mixing it with words, according to which Luiza was abandoned  even exiled to Kenya in Africa, because she ran alone. Of course the state was to blamed, it is implied.

Others tried to say that the tribute we paid to Luiza was an attempt to take credit in her success. It is not true that Luiza has run alone, despite the fact that success is all hers. It is not true that by honouring Louisa and placing state ceremonial at her disposal, we tried to exploit her success. Even if we did nothing, these people would say that we ignored her. So we continue to run faster and not waste time with negative people.

Einstein had an expression "you better not listen to them because for every solution, they have a problem". A similar thing started for the ceremony for Florian. While today we are here to celebrate a story just like that of hundreds of Albanians. Since they were children or at a very young age, they emigrated and became successful. They are making a success that does not make news. Florian's success makes news, and Florian's success is red and black.

We are not here to make comparisons, but since some want it, I am saying that in ceremonial terms, we have made the difference. We have honoured Luiza with the Big Cordon which is the highest in the evaluation scale and belongs to the heads of states, it belongs to big, political and social personalities who have an important impact in this country. She is together with Angela Merkel, Donald Tusk and Cardinal Paroli, the Vatican's head of diplomacy. While Florian Marku received the Big Star", said Rama.
