A day after meeting with ministers and senior Socialist Party officials, Prime Minister Edi Rama is set to convene the Tirana branch of the Socialist Party on Saturday, amid growing political uncertainty surrounding the capital’s municipality.

The meeting comes one day after Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj dismissed the deputy mayor, Anuela Ristani, a decision that has added to the political tensions surrounding City Hall.

According to information obtained by Lapsi.al, Tirana’s Socialists are expected to meet at 11 a.m. at a well-known restaurant in the Lundër area, on the eastern outskirts of the capital. Discussions with Socialist lawmakers from Tirana are expected to focus on two initiatives referred to as “Besa” and “Pasqyr Albania.”

Rama has said that “Pasqyr Albania” will be turned into law, drawing comparisons with his previous initiative on “Co-Governance,” which was also formalized through legislation but, according to critics, failed to deliver meaningful results.

The latest developments at Tirana City Hall are also expected to feature prominently in Saturday’s meeting, following Veliaj’s decision to remove Ristani from her post.

Meanwhile, the political landscape surrounding a potential Socialist candidate for Tirana appears to be shifting. Ogerta Manastirliu’s candidacy is reportedly facing growing uncertainty, particularly following recent protests and new political dynamics within the Socialist Party.
