Renown Albanian Director Passes Away

The well-known Albanian director, Kristaq Mitro, has passed away at the age of 77. The sad news was announced by the renown artist, Mevlan Shanaj, through a post on social media. 

He says they have been friends together since their student days until their work as lecturers at the University of the Arts. Shanaj offers condolences to the family and all of Mitro's friends. 

"Goodbye Kristaq Mitro, a friendship since student times, in a class, in a room, until the end as a teacher at the University of Arts, in the department of film direction. You are gone leaving on the Albanian screen as a director works with undisputed success! Condolences to the family and all friends!", he wrote. 

We remember that Kristaq Mitro was the People's Merited Artist and a skilled director who has always represented Albania in various arenas and world challenges. He will remain one of the most famous directors of Albanian cinematography who have left deep traces in the history of Albanian cinema. 

He also contributed as a lecturer at the University of Arts in Tirana in the field of film and television directing.
