Saimir Sula Case, Tirana's Prosecution Pays Visit to Barcelona Counterpart
Prosecutor's Office of Tirana held a meeting in the premises of the Prosecutor's Office of Barcelona, regarding the case of the deceased Sajmir Sula.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, the Spanish side clarified that due to the opening of the case in Spain by the family members of the deceased, as well as in the conditions where the case is currently being examined in the High Court, the decision is expected from this court and then proceed with sending the heart to Albania.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the performance of the DNA test of the heart will be decided by the Spanish court, which is currently under review.
"In conditions where the execution of the letter of order is in process, the execution of the test will be decided by the Spanish court which is currently under consideration, but at any moment at the end of the processes in Spain, the heart will be sent to Albania", the announcement states.
In the meeting in question, the Albanian Prosecutor requested a guarantee for the preservation of the heart and the Spanish counterpart made available a copy of the decision of the Court of Barcelona dated 25.08.2021, for the non-disposal of the organ (heart) of the deceased Saimir Sula, from the Institute of Forensic Medicine.
As for the accusations of the 33-year-old's sister for the inconsistency of the alleged dates that the histopathological study of the heart of the citizen S.S. was made on 22.04.2020, (while this citizen passed away on 09.05.2020), by the Spanish was clarified that this is a material written error.
