Salaries up by 2.5% for Teachers, Police, Military
The Council of Ministers approved on Friday several decisions to increase salaries by 2.5% for teachers in the pre-university system, for employees of the State Police, and for military personnel.
The salary increase extends its effects from January 1, 2026, while the increase calculated on the gross salary will be applied after the publication of the decisions in the Official Gazette.
In the pre-university education system, around 36,390 teaching and non-teaching employees benefit from the approval of the decision.
For 30,000 teaching employees, psychologists/social workers, and security officers in educational institutions of the pre-university education system, under the Ministry of Education, the effects are estimated at around Lek 114.5 million per month for salaries and social and health insurance.
For 1,500 teaching staff in the vocational education system, under the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, the effects are estimated at around Lek 6 million per month for salaries and social and health insurance.
For 4,890 teaching staff in the preschool education system, children's cultural centers, and school dormitories, the effects are estimated at around Lek 16.7 million per month for salaries and social and health insurance.
