The Prosecution has uncovered the scheme of 45.5 kg of heroin that was seized in the Port of Durres a few days ago in a chrome truck, which was destined for Bari, Italy, as reported Friday.

Information at hand suggests that the truck, when it entered the scanner of the Port of Durrës was clean and then the driver of the truck Olgert Doda pretended to break the vehicle.

Then cockpit of the truck was replaced with another new one, where the drugs were hidden and did not pass through the scanner by the employees.

The heroin seized a few days ago came from northern Macedonia, was in transit in Albania and was destined for Italy.

Today, the Court of Durrës decided ‘arrest in prison’ for the owner of the truck ‘Hensi Trans’, Arian Çerma, 45 years old, resident in Durrës and the driver of the truck Olgert Duda, 36 years old, resident in Fier. Neither of the two detainees have pleaded guilty.

On Monday night, a quantity of narcotics destined to be smuggled in Italy, hidden in a truck, was seized in the Port of Durrës in a police drugs elimination operation.

Based on the information at hand, the narcotics substance was found after a detailed search by the border police forces in the truck which was loaded with chrome.

After the action, the police accompanied to the station the driver of the truck where the narcotics were found and investigations into others involved in the criminal activity continued.

Earlier on, the police revealed that over 45 kg of heroin was seized by the police in the operation that was carried out by the Permanent Task Force operating in the Port of Durrës, consisting of the Border Police, the investigative structures of the Local Police Directorate of Durrës and the customs authorities of the Port.

In the framework of the operation, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto: Olgert Duda, 36 years old, resident in Fier and Arian Çerma, 45 years old, resident in Durrës.

Meanwhile, the investigative materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Durrës, for the criminal offense "Narcotics Trafficking", committed in collaboration.

“The Permanent Task Force operating in the Port of Durrës, based on the information gathered, has exercised meticulous control over the incoming and outgoing trucks. During the control at the exit in the second line, in the truck type "Scania" owned by the citizen A. Ç., Driven by the citizen OD and loaded with chrome, destined for the Italian state, specifically in the cabin of the truck, were found hidden 43 packages wrapped in natriban inside which contained suspected heroin narcotics, with a total weight of 45 kilograms and 500 grams”, said the police.
