Schools Closed for 2nd Day in North of Albania Due to Floods
Classes in 14 schools in the areas affected by the bad weather in the north of Albania will be suspended on Tuesday, for second day in a row.
Decision was made this Monday by the Ministry of Education and was announced by Minister Evis Kushi through a status on social networks.
She writes that although the situation appears to have improved in the Shkodra area, there are still difficulties in the road infrastructure. Kushi clarifies that the lost hours will be replaced in the following weeks.
"Today at the Ministry of Education, together with the management group for coping with the situation caused by the rains, we reassessed the conditions of the schools and the possibilities for resuming the teaching process.
Although the situation generally appears to have improved, there are still difficulties in the road infrastructure in the Shkodra area. For this reason, in 14 schools where 210 students learn, classes will be suspended for the next day as well. Of these schools, only one of them is a central school, while the other 13 are subordinate schools.
