Security Hacker Arrested in Tirana

State Police reported Saturday it has arrested a 45-year-old man, who is suspected of illegally intercepting computer data and interfering with computer systems. 

During the search of the apartment and the control of this citizen, as material evidence were seized: 4 mobile phones, a USB, 3 travel documents, 10 sim cards and various other documents.

"The police operation codenamed 'Shadow' was finalized by the Cybercrime Investigation Unit in the Criminal Police Department of the State Police. 
 

After a quick investigation, maximally assessing the created criminal situation and in the framework of preventing the escalation of the criminal situation for the criminal offenses 'Illegal interception of computer data', 'Interference in computer systems', 'Interference in computer data', as well as 'Misuse of equipment',  the citizen B.P., 45 years old (No further information provided for investigative reasons) was arrested. This citizen is suspected of having committed the criminal offenses mentioned above. 

The investigative material administered by the 'Cybercrime Investigation Unit' had reasonable suspicions that this citizen, through various actions, made communications through a network messaging application, which he used by linking it to mobile phone numbers of other citizens. 

After this action, this citizen provided the verification code of the application in different forms from these citizens, putting into operation the application on his computer devices. Work is currently underway to fully uncover this criminal activity and persons who may be related to this citizen. The investigative materials were submitted to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance in Tirana, for the continuation of further investigative and procedural actions," Police informed.
