The security measure of ‘Remand in custody’ against V.S., under investigation and suspected of ‘Involvement in sexual or homosexual relations with minors,’ was imposed at Gjirokastra Prosecution’s request.

On March 6, 2026, following a criminal complaint filed by the minor victim, Gjirokastra prosecution registered the criminal proceeding no. 111/2026 regarding the criminal offense of ‘Involvement in sexual or homosexual relations with minors,’ as stipulated in Article 100/4 of the Criminal Code.

An investigative team to probe the incident was established under the leadership of Gjirokastra Prosecution, and in cooperation with the Judicial Police at Gjirokastra Local Police Directorate. The investigations revealed and clarified the circumstances leading to the identification of two additional minors as victims of the criminal offense under Article 100/4 of the Criminal Code, with 67-year-old V.S. named as the suspected perpetrator.
