The Special Prosecution against Corruption (SPAK) ordered further controls near the house of the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

Local media reported this Monday that controls were made in an apartment near the one of Veliaj.

SPAK suspects that the apartment who is rented to a couple, in fact is a property of Veliaj and his wife. 

Further details are expected to be made public on the days to come.

Veliaj was arrested on February 10 over corruption charges.
