"I threw him into the river, I couldn't afford to hold him", testified the 32-year-old mother who threw her 7-day-old baby into the Kiri river in Shkodër. It is learned that Orjana Gremi has not expressed remorse for the serious act committed.

She was discharged from the hospital on January 4, while the baby was born on December 30. 

According to the Blues of Shkodra, the mother threw the newborn child into the river Kir on Sunday evening (January 6) and the dead body was found this morning (January 7). 

Police said they received information that on the evening of Friday, January 6, a citizen allegedly abandoned her baby boy, born on December 30, 2022, and may have thrown him into the Kir River. 

After checks carried out during yesterday evening and the early hours of this morning, the dead baby was found in the place called Postribë.
