The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj reacted from the security block where he is detained after the security measure 'Arrest in prison' by the Special Prosecution against Corruption (SPAK).

In a reaction for the Facebook social media, Veliaj denied every accuse, while he promised he will not be silent anymore. 

Veliaj accused the prosecutor of the case, saying that he threatened everyone to achieve what he wanted.

He underlined that he is sorry for his wife and family, for the head of the Socialist Party and the fact that he will not be part of the upcoming electoral campaign.

"I have great faith that the truth is stronger than any wall and than any idiot who stands in its way by abusing the power of justice," said Veliaj.

He denied to have any connection with corruption believing that the truth will prevail.
