Three Judges Elected New Judicial Council Members

Albania's 263 judges have elected this Friday among six candidates, 3 new members of the High Judicial Council (HJC).

The newly elected HJC members are Klodian Kurushi, from the judges of the High Court; Ridvan Hado from the ranks of Appellate Judges; and Irena Plaku from the ranks of judges of the First Instance.

Meanwhile, these three judges will replace Medi Bic, Ilir Toska and Brunilda Kadin, whose term expires on December 12th.

“-Klodian Kurushi will be a member of the HJC from among the judges of the high court. Kurushi won against Asim Vokshi, for the place left vacant by Medi Bici. Klodian Kurushi 145 votes; Asim Vokshi 93 votes; 8 invalid.

-Ridvan Hado is the other new member of the HJC from the ranks of the Courts of Appeal. Hado won against Vojsava Osmanaj for the place left by Ilir Toska. Ridvan Hado 140; Vojsava Osmanaj 101; Invalid 5.

-Irena Plaku is the third new member of the HJC from the ranks of the Court of First Instance. Irena Plaku won against Manjola Xhaxhos for the place left by Brunilda Kadi. Irena plaku 158; Manjola Xhaxho 75; Invalid 13”, announced the HJC.
