Tirana Police Launch Criminal Proceedings Against 27 Individuals Following 19th Day of Civic Protests
Tirana Police have announced criminal proceedings against 27 individuals following the 19th day of ongoing civic protests in the Albanian capital.
According to a statement issued by the Tirana Local Police Directorate, the individuals are suspected of engaging in actions that allegedly disrupted public order and safety during the demonstration.
Authorities claim that the suspects obstructed the movement of vehicles and caused disturbances to public order. Police further alleged that they encouraged protesters to move through several major roads in Tirana, exceeding both the time frame and the designated route previously communicated for the gathering.
The criminal proceedings follow investigative and procedural actions carried out by law enforcement agencies in connection with the protest. Police said that investigations remain ongoing as authorities continue efforts to fully document the events surrounding the demonstration.
