Turkey’s Biggest Crypto Scammer Left in Jail
Turkey-s biggest crypto scammer, Faruk Fatih Ozer definitely will be extradited to Turkey. The Appeal Court left in jail Ozer, opening the road of extradition. He appealed the decision of the Elbasan Court, trying to change his security measure without success, although his lawyer said he does not represent any threat to Albania.
Faruk Fatih Ozer was the chairman and founder of Turkish cryptocurrency exchange Thodex, which went offline in May 2021, sending account holders into a panic. He was seen leaving Istanbul Airport in April, bound for Albania. Ozer was then spotted in a hotel in Albania but then disappeared again until he was arrested in Southern Albania.
The Thodex scam is believed to be the largest con in Turkish history and some 400,000 people are believed to have fallen victim to him.
