Two Albanian police officers have been suspended from duty amid an investigation into the alleged disclosure of the first photographs of Ergys Agasi and Ulian Shpataraku, following their arrests on Wednesday afternoon.

The investigation was launched by Albania’s Police Oversight Agency after photographs of the two men were widely circulated on social media shortly after their arrests.

Authorities have so far suspended two officers from the “Eagle” police unit as part of the inquiry into how the images were obtained and distributed.

The arrests of Agasi, a businessman who had been wanted by Albania’s Special Prosecution Office (SPAK), and Shpataraku quickly drew widespread attention online. Within minutes, the first images of the two men in custody were circulating across social media platforms.

One of the photographs that attracted significant attention showed Agasi inside a police vehicle, appearing visibly disoriented as he looked toward one side of the vehicle.

The investigation into the alleged leak remains ongoing, and authorities have not publicly disclosed further details regarding the circumstances under which the photographs were released.
