Two Albanians to Run in Greece's Parliamentary Elections

Two Albanian candidates, Fatos Malaj is running for the second time with PASOK in zone A of the capital Athens and Adiljan Koxhaj, from the second generation of immigrants, is running with SYRIZA in zone B of Athens and Piraeus, for the 21 May 2023 parliamentary elections in Greece.

Based on the data, a total of 50 parties, coalitions and independent candidates have registered with the Court to participate in the parliamentary elections of 21 May 2023 in Greece, more than double the number in the 2019 elections.

Deadline for submitting declarations for participation in the upcoming national elections has expired at midnight.

Therefore, 38 parties, 10 party coalitions and 2 individual candidates declared their participation in the elections.

Among the parties are those of Ilias Kasidiaris "The Greeks" allegedly led by Dimitris Chatziliadis, a retired brigadier general and former professor of the Evelpidon Military School, and the EAN of former Supreme Court Vice President Anastasios (Tassos) Kanellopoulos.

For the national-parliamentary elections of July 7, 2019, 24 parties and coalitions of parties had declared their participation in the High Court Prosecutor's Office.
