Two people have died after reportedly coming into contact with an electrical current outside a bar-café in the village of Karmë, in northern Albania, police said.

According to preliminary information released by authorities, the first victim was 40-year-old Sokol Preka, who worked as a security guard at the establishment. He died shortly after the incident.

Several minutes later, 46-year-old David Deda, an electrician by profession, also died after apparently suffering an electric shock at the same location.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.

An investigative team, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, is working to determine exactly how the electrical contact occurred and what caused the fatal incident.

Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the electrical system or whether any safety violations may have contributed to the deaths.
