Two Men Arrested in Vienna on Suspicion of Drug Distribution

A 37-year-old Albanian national and a 32-year-old Austrian man have been arrested in Vienna on suspicion of involvement in the distribution of illegal drugs, according to reports from foreign media.

The operation took place in the Leopoldstadt district, where police had been monitoring the Albanian suspect following what authorities described as suspicious behavior.

During a meeting with the 32-year-old Austrian man, the suspect allegedly placed a backpack inside his vehicle. Police searched the bag and found more than one kilogram of cannabis, according to the reports.

Investigators then carried out searches at two apartments, where they seized approximately 17 kilograms of marijuana, 1.5 kilograms of cocaine and around 60 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

Police also reportedly recovered mobile phones and approximately €160 in cash.

Both men were taken into custody. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to establish the exact role of each suspect and determine whether other people may have been involved in the alleged drug-trafficking operation.
