World kickboxing champion Maksym Kagal has been killed on the war front in Mariupol. 

He had become part of the special forces in the military unit in Azov. The news of the athlete's death was announced by the Ukrainian media. 

"Sleep well brother, the land is yours, we will take revenge," said coach Oleg Skirt, quoted by Ukrinform. 

Kagal was the first world kickboxing champion in Iska (International Association of Sports Karate) in the Ukrainian national team.
