Charge d’affaires Nancy VanHorn met Thursday with SPAK Chief Special Prosecutor Altin Dumani.

During this meeting, VanHorn praised SPAK’s achievements in successfully prosecuting corruption and organized crime at the highest levels. 

Ms. VanHorn and Mr. Dumani discussed how SPAK and the NBI cannot do this work alone and must rely on institutions like the police, courts, prosecutor offices, vetting offices, inspectorates, and councils to do their part with independence, dedication, and integrity. 

This is crucial to protecting the gains Albania has made in rule of law, a key part of the EU accession process.
