US Embassy to Tirana has shared this Tuesday a congratulatory message on the occasion of Albania's Liberation Day. 

In the message, it is underlined that 78 years ago Albania was freed from the Nazi invaders, so this date serves as an occasion to remember the sacrifices of the Albanian people.

"1944-2022 | Albania celebrates 78 years of liberation from the Nazi occupation during World War II. This occasion is a reminder of the sacrifices of the Albanian people and an opportunity to celebrate a glorious moment in Albanian history. Happy Liberation, Albania", emphasized the US Embassy.

Nevertheless, Albania is celebrating today the Liberation Day, which is commemorated as the day, November 29, 1944, in which the country was liberated from Nazi Germany forces after the Albanian resistance during World War II.

On Monday was the Flag Day, or Independence Day, which is celebrated every 28 November as a holiday in Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia and the Albanian diaspora.
