Ahead of the new Parliamentary Session this Thursday, the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Nancy VanHorn met with the Committee on Legal Affairs, Public Administration, and Human Rights Chair Klotilda Bushka and Deputy Chair Dhurata Çupi to discuss Parliament’s legislative priorities. 

They emphasized the importance of independent institutions, the critical nature of Albania’s justice reform, and the vital role of both the majority and opposition in fostering a healthy, inclusive democracy.

This meeting comes in a time when the opposition is planning to continue protests inside and outside the Parliament.
