Vasilika Hysi Steps Down as Socialist MP after 12-Year-Long Career

Vasilika Hysi has decided to leave the Socialist Party after being part of it for 12 years. This was announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama at a conference while presenting the program "Justice we want".

"Vasilika informed me that she has decided to open the way for the youth. Vasilika, I believe, there was no better place than this, where you have a key role for what we have done for the justice reform", said Rama.

Speaking about her 12 years as part of the Socialist Party, Vasilika Hysi praised the fact that SP has supported and promoted women and young girls.

"I have had very good positions, you have supported and promoted women and girls. We have had a very good team of promoting in the SP. There are also many, many young people that the SP may have in the future. We received congratulations from citizens who did not share the same political beliefs as us. We received praise from our supporters. I want to praise them for saying to us you are really stronger.

I have had the privilege to work these 4 years, as vice Speaker of the Parliament with Speaker Gramoz Ruci, it has been a second school. Thank you and I believe that the SP team will be a model for the third term but not only. I will continue to provide strong support for SP," said Hysi.
