Violation of Equality in Tenders, SPAK Takes Vice Premier Under Investigation

The local media in Albania reported Friday that the Special Prosecution against Corruption (SPAK) registered vice Prime Minister, Belinda Balluku as a person under investigation for violation of the equality in tenders.

The number two of the government, is called to appear at SPAK on Monday, according to an order signed by the special prosecutor Dritan Priençi. 

Balluku was called to appear accompanied by a lawyer, which in such cases indicates that she may be charged with a criminal offense, local media reported. 

SPAK is very reserved in providing details regarding the case that Deputy Prime Minister Balluku is investigating, as there are a number of criminal charges against her, including that of the Llogara tunnel where the value of the tender that was won by a Turkish company was increased by over 50 million euros.
