Remal Rada is the former member of the RENEA rapid intervention force who was caught in possession of a sniper rifle by Tirana police while he was traveling with his friend, Elton Hithi. 

During the search of the vehicle, the police found foreign license plates, a police identification badge and a remote control for opening and closing the vehicle's license plates. 

However, Rada has previously served in the ranks of the State Police, in the RENEA department, and was driving a luxury vehicle with foreign (English) license plates. 

Moreover, the former officer had left the ranks of the police 2-3 months ago, but was stopped by the traffic police services, and then a sniper rifle was found in his car, due to which it is suspected that Rada and Hithi would commit an assassination. 

Their arrest was made last evening in the capital as part of the "Double strike" operation, regarding which the police explained that during the search of the vehicle with driver Remal Rada and passenger Elton Hithi, they found and seized, as material evidence, a sniper rifle, foreign license plates, an identification tool like the ones used by the Police and a panel for opening and closing vehicle license plates. 

During the search of their homes, a firearm, a pistol, two pairs of binoculars and military ammunition were found, which were seized, as material evidence, together with the vehicle.
