Zelenskyy and Turkish Foreign Minister Discuss Grain Deal

The Black Sea grain deal was an important topic of discussion during a meeting of Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Turkish foreign minister Hakan Fidan this Friday.

The pair met in Kyiv to discuss "many important issues", Ukraine's president said.

Russia's exit from the grain deal, which had allowed the safe export of Ukrainian grain from Black Sea ports, was high on the agenda, as well as Ukraine's "peace formula" and its preparations for a Global Peace Summit in the autumn.

Ankara is pushing for Moscow to return to the Black Sea deal, which was brokered by Turkey and the UN in July last year.

Earlier, the Kremlin said Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recip Tayyip Erdogan would hold talks in person soon, but did not say where the leaders would meet.
