59kg of Drugs Seized at Greek-Albanian Border, Truck Driver Dead

A quantity of 59 kg of marijuana was seized in a truck in Igoumenica around midnight, as Paramithi patrol officers spotted a truck with foreign license plates parked on the side of the road. 

In the driver's seat was a Greek citizen, who had passed away. The truck was apparently transporting goods to Athens. After the control carried out with anti-drug dogs, a quantity of 59 kilograms of narcotics was found in the truck. 

The Greek police have managed to capture a Greek citizen, who, in cooperation with another wanted person and two unknown persons, tried to enter the truck with the aim of taking drugs. 

It is also reported that a vehicle and a sum of money of 2100 euros, which are suspected to belong to the perpetrators, were seized.
