Albanian citizens abroad can now apply for issuing of biometric documents, since 6 offices for this purpose have been established near the consulates to foreign countries, as the Interior Minister Sandër Lleshaj announced Wednesday.

The Minister released this news during his inspection of application office for biometric documents in Administrative Unit no. 6 of Kombinat. There, he was up close the application process and appealed to all citizens whose ID cards expire, to hurry to renew them, in order to be able to receive the following services.

Moreover, Lleshaj invited Albanian citizens living abroad, to become part of the process of registering their address in the countries where they live.

The new application offices for biometric documents will be opened at the Consulate in Bari, Italy, as well as the Albanian Embassies in Vienna, Austria, Paris, France, Berlin, Germany, Stockholm, Sweden and Istanbul of Turkey.

“I invite citizens not to wait the last minute, but to approach the application offices, to apply as long as the conditions are optimal and to enable themselves access, to receive the key to the services, not only for the general identification, but also a big number of services that will be offered only twards ID card.

Today, in the conditions of big digitalization, we really exist only when we have become part of the network. We can enter the network only through our identity, which is the card, so I use it once again and repeat this call, in order not to be surprised in the coming days and months”, stated the Minister of Interior among other things.
