Albania’s Health and Social Welfare Minister Evis Sala has resigned from her post, according to media reports.

Sala is reported to have personally handed her resignation letter to Prime Minister Edi Rama during a government meeting held Wednesday at the Villa e Kuqe.

There has been no official statement so far from the Ministry of Health or Sala herself confirming the resignation.

Sala joined Rama’s cabinet in September 2025. A graduate of the University of Tirana, she has pursued an international career at institutions including the University of Cambridge, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in the United States and Policlinico Gemelli in Rome.

The reasons for her reported resignation have not yet been made public.
