PM Rama Thanks Evis Sala as Health Minister Resigns for International Commitments

Prime Minister Edi Rama has thanked Evis Sala following her resignation as Albania’s health minister, saying she will continue to contribute to the country while taking on new international commitments.

Rama praised Sala for her “dedication and professionalism” and said her expertise would remain a valuable contribution alongside her international work.

Sala, who served as health and social welfare minister for about a year, said she was stepping down after accepting several important international positions in her fields of expertise, including oncology, artificial intelligence and innovation.

In a statement following her resignation, Sala thanked Rama for his trust and support, as well as health care professionals and citizens who contributed during her time in office.

She said her commitment to Albania was not tied to holding a government position and would continue through her knowledge, experience and international professional network.

The government has not yet announced a successor to Sala.
