Albania’s Schools Turn to Alternating Schedules

New scheme has been unveiled by the Education Ministry on Thursday for Albanian schools amid rising coronavirus fears.

The Minister of Education, Evis Kushi has announced that starting from December 1, primary grades and high school seniors will attend classes in schools only, not online.

According to the minister, a new scheme will be applied for the other grades - as Health Ministry suggested - saying that in weeks (1-3), the first 2 days are taught in school, and the other three online, and in even weeks (2-4) the first two days online, and the other three days at school.

She also explained that private or rural schools with few students can continue with scenario 1, while in more severe cases other scenarios will be applied.

A decision will also be made for each school based on reports made by it and local institutions to the education offices every Friday.
