Albania to Supply Kosovo with Electricity on New Year's Holidays

The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Belinda Balluku, said after the government meeting that it was decided that Albania would give Kosovo electricity on New Year's holidays.

As Minister Balluku emphasized, Albania will give energy to Kosovo on December 31 and January 1. Meanwhile, Balluku stressed that this will be a debt to Kosovo, which should repay it when the opportunity arises.

"We will sacrifice and remove from our reserves to send them to Kosovo on December 31 and January 1. The amount sent is 7680 megawatts and we will start the broadcast at 7 o'clock on the 31st and we will broadcast until 24:00 on the 1st of January. Everything we will send we do not expect financial exchange, but this amount that we will deposit will be returned to us at a time when they have abundance in the summer period, ie from June to September, when Albania faces the difficulties of water reserves.

This is a sacrifice made by the Republic of Albania. We will try to create a micelle through the deposits that are being created hopefully these days from the rainfall that we will have and we will be in import conditions for the Republic of Albania. So it will be a micelle of the water reserve that we will use from the Drin cascade, and of a purchase in case it will be necessary. I hope we will manage with our reserves", declared Minister Balluku.
