Ambassador to US Reacts over Death of Young Albanian Athlete
Albanian athlete, Klavio Meca passed away on Sunday at the age of 24, leaving a lot of pain for his family and not only.
Albanian Ambassador to the US, Floreta Luli Faber has made a heartfelt dedication on social networks for the death at a young age of the athlete Klavio Meca.
She has chosen to remember the 24-year-old with a very meaningful video where he recites the verses of Naim Frashëri detached from "Words of the Candle".
"We met very briefly and shared with you only a few days, but we will long remember you for the excitement you conveyed and the enthusiasm you brought to everyone who was part of the program. ‘Albanian Days in Washington DC’ is one of the most valuable activities of the Albanian Embassy. The very smart, sweet and easygoing Klavio was part of the group of students selected for last year (2019). The tradition of this two-day activity with meetings and visits to many American institutions we hope to continue year after year but now for one more reason, his unforgettable memory.
My sincere condolences for this tragic and premature loss to Klavio's family, relatives and all friends. I personally recorded the following video during the meeting at the Embassy. I publish it in order to share a beautiful memory of Klavio from a moment that today takes on another value," Ambassador Luli Faber underlined.
Klavio Meça was an Albanian swimmer. He competed in the men's 200 meter freestyle event at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships. He has had a number of sporting achievements while we point out that in Budapest, Hungary he has set a new national record in the 400 m freestyle with a total time of 4'04 â€03.
