Albanian Drug Dealer Arrested in Italy

Italian police in Ancona has handcuffed a young Albanian man after he was caught with 104 packages of cocaine and hashish bags which if put on the market would be worth EUR 17.000.

For some time, investigators were aware of the flourishing of drug trafficking activity undertaken by the young Albanian, but had never managed to eavesdrop on him, as he did not have a fixed residence on Italian territory. The only known fact for the investigators was that the Albanian was moving in cars that he rented from time to time.

Yesterday afternoon, police spotted him in one of the areas where he often went passing by with a rented Citroen C1. Police set off in pursuit of him, police stopped him after a few miles. The Albanian underwent a detailed search until the police found 104 doses of cocaine hidden in the door of his car. Police also seized EUR 4000 in cash, income from drug trafficking and a handwritten sheet summarizing the illegal activity where it was shown as a turnover of EUR 150.000, as well as suitable material for drug packaging.

Agents extended the search to the young man's house, where they also found hashish inserted in hats on the clothes rack. The Albanian was arrested and placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Ancona.
