Albanian police say they prevented a suspected shooting in Divjakë after a man allegedly returned to a local bar armed with a pistol fitted with a silencer, hours after a violent confrontation at the same location.

Police said officers were initially called to a bar owned by a 50-year-old man identified as Zeni Kule, where a fight involving blunt objects had broken out. Two men, 22-year-old Orgito Lamka and 51-year-old Shahin Xhepexhiu, were found injured and later received medical treatment before leaving for their homes.

According to police, officers later received operational information that Lamka had returned to the bar armed with a silenced handgun and was allegedly planning to kill Xhepexhiu. Police intervened before the suspected attack could take place.

Authorities subsequently arrested six people in connection with the incident: Lamka, Kevin Sota, 45, Serxhio Duda, 28, Santiago Alla, 30, bar owner Zeni Kule, 50, and Shahin Xhepexhiu, 51.

Police said a handgun with a silencer and a round in the chamber was seized from Lamka and a second handgun was found during a search of Sota's vehicle. Officers also seized four vehicles and six mobile phones as evidence.

Police said Lamka, Sota and Duda have previous criminal records related to the production and sale of narcotics in Albania, with Lamka also having a related record in Belgium. Authorities said Duda was driving the vehicle used by Lamka when he returned to the bar, while Alla allegedly attempted to remove a firearm from Sota's vehicle.

Kule was arrested on suspicion of failing to report a crime, while Xhepexhiu was also arrested on the same allegation after investigators said he had not provided a truthful account of the confrontation.

The seized firearms will undergo forensic examination, police said, as investigators continue working to establish the full circumstances of the incident, determine individual responsibility and investigate the alleged criminal activity of those involved.

The case has been referred to the Fier Prosecutor's Office for further proceedings.
