Albanian Prosecutors’ Association Joins the International Association of Prosecutors
The Association of Prosecutors of the Republic of Albania has joined the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) as a full member, marking a significant step in strengthening the international representation of Albanian prosecutors.
The IAP, founded in 1995 at the United Nations Office in Vienna, brings together prosecutors and prosecutorial organisations from around the world and serves as a major international platform for professional cooperation and the exchange of experience and best practices.
For Albania’s prosecutors’ association, membership provides access to a broader international network of legal professionals and creates opportunities to exchange expertise with colleagues working in different justice systems.
The association said the membership would also allow Albanian prosecutors to contribute to international discussions on issues including prosecutorial independence, integrity, professionalism and the role of prosecutors in democratic societies.
It is also expected to support greater international cooperation, professional development and participation in international initiatives, while strengthening ties with counterpart organisations abroad.
For the Association of Prosecutors of the Republic of Albania, joining the IAP represents more than institutional recognition. It is intended to give Albanian prosecutors a stronger voice within the international prosecutorial community and provide an avenue for bringing international standards and best practices to Albania.
The association said it would seek to use its IAP membership as a long-term platform for professional cooperation, knowledge-sharing and development, with the broader goal of strengthening the role of prosecutors and the values of justice in a democratic society.
