Arben Taravari is expected to declare his candidacy for leader of the Alliance for Albanians in North Macedonia. 

Party structures have already collected signatures to support his candidacy, while Taravari enjoys support of all branches and broad membership as well as senior party exponents.

“We inform you that tomorrow (Friday) 02.12.2022, at 14:00, Arben Taravari, will submit the candidacy for chairman of the Alliance for Albanians, accompanied by the signatures of the members, before the commission in the party's headquarters in Tetovo. Following the submission of the candidacy there will be a press release, ” reads the official announcement of the party.

Taravari up to this moment is the only candidate for this position within the party, as the Alliance for Albanians Congress is scheduled to take place on December 17 and comes after the irrevocable resignation of former President Ziadin Sela. 

Taravari, along with Ziadin Sela, formed the Reform Movement, which was later named as the Alliance for Albanians. In addition to exercising the function of the ASA Secretary General for a time he was also vice president of this party, and is one of the most authority and influential figures in the party, as well as the close associate of former President Ziadin Sela.
