Authorities Crack Down on Suspected Call Center Operations in Tirana Amid International Probe
Tirana Prosecution, in cooperation with cybercrime and economic crime units, have launched a major operation targeting suspected call center activities across the capital.
Authorities have identified two floors of a residential building on Kavaja Street that were allegedly being used as a call center. Another similar operation was uncovered near the Tirana Zoo, where dozens of operators were reportedly employed.
The investigation is supported by international partners, including German and Austrian nationals assisting authorities on the ground.
The crackdown comes amid growing concerns over fraudulent call center operations in the region. Just a day earlier, Europol confirmed it is actively monitoring and supporting efforts to combat the phenomenon.
Officials have not yet released further details, as investigations are ongoing.
