Basha Responds to Albanian Mothers' Request
Democrat leader Lulzim Basha promised to Albanian mothers this Monday that the next government has a clear plan to return the youth to Albania, thus restoring hope to the country.
This was a promise made during the meeting Basha held this morning with Albanian mothers after the latter told the difficult stories of their children in emigration.
"I thank you for being part of this conversation, for sharing your personal stories. While listening to these stories I also experience that pain and suffering. I am also a parent, I have not experienced 6 years without seeing the child, but being a parent I understand what it feels like.
What is the cause of this pain? It is the departure of the youth. What is the reason for their departure? Lack of hope, lack of perspective, lack of jobs. And this is why we have placed at the top of our priorities for tomorrow's government, the return of hope to Albania, with absolute priority jobs, employment and in particular the employment of youth.
The task of the next government is to make it as easy and acceptable for them to return to their country, and this is another priority in terms of youth in particular and closing this emigration wound. The next government will treat Albania with the same responsibility as the Albanian parents treat their children," pledged Basha.
